This early, full-band version of Lost in the Woods was originally intended for inclusion on Bric-à-Brac but wasn't completed in time. It was quickly overtaken by the more breezy, lower octane version which landed in the first track position on the album.
lyrics
Lost In The Woods (Again)
Still shuffling through the debris the next explosion is inevitable
They say the limits and the boundaries we impose on ourselves are merely theoretical
Trying to whittle down infinity is like trying to wave away the air
Or to wake up in the morning after falling through your dreams
Unsure if you'll ever land
We are lost in the woods and I keep searching your face
All the feeling is gone if it even existed in the first place
They say the obstacles we face are merely symptoms of the baggage we keep
Don't it kinda make you wanna grab em' by the throat and hold em' under
'till you're sure they'll never breathe again?
Tryin' to whittle down infinity is like trying to water-down a stream
Or to wake up in the morning holding onto all the things that you found in your dreams
I'm lost in your song and I can't find the beat
It seems the notes are all wrong, the bridge lay in the street
We are lost in the woods and I've been searching your face
All the feeling is gone if it even existed in the first place
Take me home... take me home...
Nobody says this path would be a piece of cake
I'll go back to being lonely you go back to making stupid mistakes
I am lost in your song and I keep losing the beat
Seems the notes are all wrong, the bridge lay in the street
We are lost in the woods and I've been searching your face
All the feeling is gone if it even existed in the first place
Take me home… take me home... take me home...
Take me home... take me home... take me home...
Take me home... take me home... take me home...
